Have you ever went to a candlelight service on Christmas Eve? Our church gives everyone candles. The entire room goes black and then the Pastor lights one single candle. That candle is used to light a few more. Those candles go around the room and in less then five minutes the whole room is illuminated with candle light. That is our hope here on earth. We have the one light strong enough to illuminate the whole world right inside us. Lately as friends and family lose that hope and fall into sin and despair, I have to ask myself how do I keep from losing my faith. Then I look around and see other little lights around me. I'm reminded of when God told Elijah he wasn't the only one still serving him. I have come in contact with people still strong in the faith in all sorts of places.
